Tests and scores for emlyon: check your programme’s requirements

There is no single score that applies to every emlyon application. Distinguish your route’s official minimum, a personal preparation target and any scholarship criteria. A strong score does not guarantee admission.

Identify the tests accepted for your route

For PGE admission with a French qualification, the official page lists TAGE MAGE or GMAT. Do not assume that every alternative offered under the international route is accepted for French AST admission. Consult the official AST conditions.

For other PGE routes, use the section for your qualification on the official Programme Grande École page. For an MSc, specialised master’s, BBA or MBA, check the exact programme before booking a test.

Compare GMAT scores correctly

The current GMAT uses a 205-805 scale; the previous edition used 200-800. These scales cannot be compared directly. Use GMAC’s official explanation and specify the edition when speaking with admissions or your coach.

Avoid tables that promise admission or automatic rejection without a published programme rule. Your preparation target should reflect your starting level, timeline and the other parts of your application.

Check English-language requirements

Confirm the accepted test and edition, overall minimum, any component minimums, exemptions and required validity date. An exemption needs to be confirmed for your circumstances: previous study in English does not automatically remove the test requirement for every route.

If the official page gives a language level rather than a test score, ask admissions which evidence it requires. Do not turn a general recommendation into a mandatory threshold.

Prepare reliable score documentation

  • Check that the name on your score report matches your application.
  • Record the deadline for receiving results, not just the application deadline.
  • Check the programme’s maximum permitted age for results, including certificates that have no expiry date of their own.
  • Confirm the official reporting method and delivery time.
  • Keep confirmation of receipt in your applicant portal.

What about the IB for the Global BBA?

Check your qualification’s conditions on the official Global BBA page. Distinguish eligibility, recommended scores and scholarship awards. Seek written confirmation of any threshold or financial benefit on which your decision depends.

Organise your preparation

Start with a diagnostic, identify the skills you need to improve and schedule study sessions and practice tests. Allow time for the rest of your application. Discuss test preparation with Your Dream School.
