Academic and English Requirements
A levels, Scottish Highers and the IB are separate qualifications. Required subjects, grades and English-language scores depend on the degree; check component scores and exemption rules rather than using a university-wide range.
UCAS Dates for 2027 Entry
UCAS gives 13 January 2027 at 18:00 UK time as the equal consideration deadline for most courses. The earlier deadline is 15 October 2026 at 18:00 for most medicine, dentistry and veterinary courses. Check your specific course; your school may require an earlier submission.
Clearing opens on 2 July 2027 for eligible applicants. Availability depends on vacancies; it is not a guaranteed alternative route.
Personal Statement and Reference
From 2026 entry onwards, the UCAS personal statement answers three questions. There are 4,000 characters in total, including spaces, with a minimum of 350 characters for each answer. Prepare your academic reference in time for submission.
