This calendar covers UCAS applications for a bachelor’s degree starting in 2027. The process begins in 2026. For each course, check the deadline shown in the UCAS search tool, as well as any test or portfolio deadlines.

Overview of the 2026–2027 UCAS calendar

Two main deadlines shape your preparation: 15 October 2026 for Oxford, Cambridge and most medicine, dentistry and veterinary medicine courses, and 13 January 2027 for most other courses. The January date is the “equal consideration” deadline: all applications received by then are given equal consideration. After that, whether an application is considered depends, among other things, on how many places remain.

Key dates for 2027 entry

  • 12 May 2026: applications open for you to start preparing.
  • 1 September 2026: you can start sending completed applications.
  • 15 October 2026, 6pm (UK time): deadline for Oxford, Cambridge and most medicine, dentistry and veterinary medicine courses.
  • 13 January 2027, 6pm (UK time): equal consideration deadline for most other undergraduate courses.
  • 25 February 2027: Extra opens.
  • 30 June 2027, 6pm (UK time): new applications received after this deadline go straight into Clearing.
  • 1 July 2027: last day to add an Extra choice.
  • 2 July 2027: Clearing opens.
  • 23 September 2027, 6pm (UK time): final application deadline for 2027 entry.
  • 18 October 2027: last day to add a Clearing choice.

What to do at each stage

Before you submit, prepare your choices, your Personal Statement answers and your academic details. Make sure your reference is completed in time. If you are applying through your school, also meet its internal deadline, which is often earlier than the UCAS one.

Extra may give you an additional choice if you have used all five choices and are not holding any offers. In Clearing, look for available places and check that you are eligible before adding a choice. See the UCAS guidance and your account for the procedures and the deadlines for replying to offers.

Practical tips

  • Put the deadlines in your calendar in UK time, and leave yourself some margin before submitting.
  • Keep the UCAS deadline separate from test registration, interview and portfolio deadlines.
  • Keep track of document requests and the reply dates specific to your offers.
  • For exam results, check your exam board’s calendar; the 2025 dates do not apply to 2027.

Checklist before you submit

  • Choices and entry requirements checked for your year of entry.
  • Personal answers proofread and academic details accurate.
  • Reference completed and application fee paid, as applicable to your situation.
  • Tests and supporting documents scheduled.
  • Submission status confirmed in your UCAS account.
