Frequently asked questions

Are degrees obtained abroad recognized in France?

Yes. Degrees in medicine, dentistry, veterinary science and physiotherapy obtained in a European Union country are recognized in France under Directive 2005/36/EC, subject to a recognition procedure with the relevant national professional council (Conseil National de l’Ordre).

How much are tuition fees?

Fees vary by country: in our partner destinations, they range from €4,000 to €37,500 a year, depending on the university and the program. They are often lower than the real cost of health training in France.

Do I need to speak the local language?

Not necessarily. Several faculties in our partner destinations offer programs taught in English or French. In other cases, you will need a good command of the local language for clinical placements.

Can I do my residency in France after studying abroad?

Yes, provided you pass the Épreuves Classantes Nationales (national ranking exams) or go through the authorization-to-practice procedure. EU degrees give direct access to residency, subject to certain conditions.
