Bocconi GPA Calculator
Estimate your GPA converted to the Italian 6-10 scale (pass mark = 6, top mark = 10), for the third-last and the second-last year before your diploma, following the official Bocconi 2026/27 calculator method.
Exclude: PE and sport, military training, religion, ethics, conduct and behaviour, moral education (and for the IB: TOK, CAS, Extended Essay). Include: music, art, drawing and every other subject. Final grades only, unweighted: do not average the terms yourself.
1. Settings
Choose your grading system: it sets the pass mark and the top mark used by your school, which drive the conversion to the Italian 6-10 scale.
2. Your final grades
One row per subject (the name is optional). Enter the grade exactly as it appears on the transcript; a grade below the pass mark counts as the pass mark. Bocconi calculates a GPA for each year.
Third-last year
| Subject (optional) | Grade | → /10 |
|---|
Second-last year
| Subject (optional) | Grade | → /10 |
|---|

⚠️ This is an indicative estimate. The official, final calculation is produced by the personal calculator built into your Bocconi application portal (reachable only from inside your application). Without a valid transcript, an application is processed with the minimum pass mark: 6 / 10.
Official Bocconi method and detailed rules (FAQ)
- Conversion: each grade is mapped onto the Italian 6-10 scale by linear interpolation between your school’s pass mark (which becomes 6) and its top mark (which becomes 10). Example, the French system (10 to 20): 10/20 becomes 6; 15/20 becomes 8; 20/20 becomes 10.
- GPA per year: the portal has two separate tasks, “GPA calculation, 3rd-last year” and “GPA calculation, 2nd-last year”. A year’s GPA is the unweighted average of that year’s subjects, converted to the 6-10 scale.
- Unweighted GPA: always use the unweighted GPA.
- Grade below the pass mark: the system does not accept failing grades. Enter the subject as if it sat at the pass mark.
- Do not average the terms: use the final annual grade, or failing that the last semester or third term. Never an average you worked out by hand.
- Your transcript already shows a GPA: choose “my transcript already shows a GPA”, enter it as it stands (even if your school folds PE or religion into it) and it is converted automatically. Do not re-enter the subjects.
- Which years: count backwards from your graduation year, even if you spent a year abroad, repeated a year or changed school. “Third-last” is grade 10 of 12 or 11 of 13; “second-last” is grade 11 of 12 or 12 of 13.
- Subjects to exclude: PE and sport, military training, religion, ethics, conduct and behaviour, moral education. IB: also exclude TOK, CAS and the Extended Essay.
- Subjects to include: music, art, drawing and every other academic subject on the transcript. Bocconi requires no particular specialism or track.
- UK curriculum: use official board results ((I)GCSE) rather than internal school marks, and only the session for the year in question (GCSE and IGCSE use the same scale). Enter your school’s pass mark and top mark under “Custom”.
- Transcript missing for one year: supply an official statement from the school and carry the available year’s GPA across to the missing year.
- Scale not listed or unclear: contact admissionsoffice@unibocconi.it, attaching the transcript, the pass mark and the top mark. The update can take a few days, so do not leave it until the deadline.
