The new dual degree offered by Sciences Po and ESCP Business School brings social sciences and business education together in the Bachelor in Politics, Economics and Management (PEM). The first intake is planned for 2027, with around 40 students. The programme lasts four years, is taught entirely in English and leads to two degrees.

Two institutions, one interdisciplinary programme

Students combine Sciences Po’s approach to politics, economics, history, sociology and law with ESCP’s education in management. The programme is designed for applicants interested in the connections between public affairs, markets and organisations. Successful graduates receive the Sciences Po Bachelor’s degree and ESCP’s Bachelor of Science in Management.

Where will you study?

  • Years 1 and 2: Sciences Po, Reims. Students build their grounding in social sciences and quantitative methods.
  • Year 3: ESCP, London. The focus moves to finance, accounting, marketing, data analysis and management.
  • Year 4: ESCP’s European options. The current programme offers Berlin, Madrid or Turin, or a semester in Paris or London followed by an exchange. Specialisation, a dissertation and work experience form part of the final stage.

Check the official curriculum before choosing your pathway. Four years does not mean four different countries.

How to apply

The application route depends on your school qualification: applicants taking the French baccalaureate use Parcoursup; applicants from other secondary-school systems use Sciences Po’s international admissions portal. Selection includes an application review and, for shortlisted candidates, an interview with representatives of both institutions.

International application deadline for 2027: the official admission page requires a complete application before 1 March 2027. Parcoursup follows its own calendar. Always check the official PEM admission requirements.

English at C1 level is expected at the interview. The accepted test result must be supplied to ESCP by 30 August after the first year at Sciences Po. ESCP currently lists minimum scores of IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 90 or Cambridge Advanced 180. Read the current instructions carefully: language proficiency at admission and the deadline for submitting a test certificate are separate requirements.

Tuition fees and budgeting

Students pay the institution where they study: Sciences Po in years 1–2, then ESCP in years 3–4. At Sciences Po, the applicable fees depend in particular on parents’ tax residence and household income. ESCP currently lists annual totals of €20,800 for students eligible for its European rate and €26,800 for other students, including registration and student services. These figures are indicative and may change each year; ESCP’s European rate requires a valid European passport.

Accommodation, travel and living costs are additional. Check the institutions’ current fee schedules and scholarship rules before budgeting. The four-year total will depend on the fees charged each year and any aid actually awarded. See the official ESCP fees and funding information.

Further study and career plans

The combination of politics, economics and management can support plans for postgraduate study or work in areas such as consulting, finance, public affairs, international organisations and entrepreneurship. Admission to a subsequent Master’s programme remains subject to its own requirements. As the first PEM intake is planned for 2027, there are no graduate employment results for this programme yet.

Who is the programme for?

This pathway may suit academically strong school-leavers who want to combine social sciences with management from the start of their university studies. Consider both the academic fit and the practical commitments: studying in English, changing campuses and financing the ESCP years. Your application should explain why this combination fits your interests, rather than relying on the reputation of the two institutions alone.

Prepare your school record, research the curriculum and practise explaining your academic interests in English. YourDreamSchool can help you organise your application strategy and prepare for interviews.
